Facts about Phuket
   
  Population: Phuket is an island connected with the main land through a bridge. Phuket has approximately 250 000 resident inhabitants, but during high season more than 30 000 tourists visit the island.
   
  Distance to airport: Approximately 45 minutes with car to Patong, Karon and Kata beach.
   
  Communications: Local bus, tuk-tuk taxi or moped taxi. In Thailand people drive on the left side of the street.
   
  Beaches: Phuket has got marvellous and long beaches with fine-grained and light sand. Many of them are shallow. Phuket and its surroundings offer fantastic opportunities for diving and snorkelling, and the area has a reputation for that among divers from the whole world.
   
  Entertainment: There are five golf courses at Phuket, all of them of very high quality. At Patong beach there is a large selection of bars and restaurants in different price ranges as well as dance halls. Karon and Kata beach are somewhat more peaceful. The average price for a two-course dinner at a Thai restaurant is around £ 4/person, including beverage. At an international restaurant, the price would go up to around £ 7/person, including beverage.
   
  Climate: The average temperature during the day, from April to October, is around + 30ºC. The climate at Phuket is tropical with a high atmospheric humidity.
     
  Phuket is Thailand's most complete area, suitable for all sorts of people.
